Soul Gospel Lazy Day (Grandma’s Hands)

I’m listening to this on a loop this afternoon. Oh yes. I’ve mentioned this album before and I can’t recommend it’s velvety tones highly enough. This collection inspired me while I was having gospel voice training.

Who would have thought what I once mistakenly believed to be a Gil Scott-Heron master tune could sound creamier? Not I.

Bill Withers first.

Up next, Gospel perfectness, shrink-wrapped.

Marion Gaines Singers
‘Grandma’s Hands’.

And for Gil, the master, listen here.

And I apologise again. Just can’t master the direct embed thing.

Very nice – just right for this weather, have you checked out Shuggie Otis for similar sounds?

No I haven’t PM but I’ll give it a spin. Withers wrote Grandma’s Hands, but I heard it first through the Marion Gaines singers, secondly Scott-Heron and only on Friday did I hear the Bill Withers original. It’s a moving clip too, the man is a complete dude. I’ve been listening to it about 20 times already and yes it suits the weather perfectly.
