I must spread the gospel, spread the word. The word is out – Candi Staton – is the word. I’m not talking the usual ‘young hearts run free’ schtick you hear in clubs, I mean the pure gold Candi you can find in the amazing collection of her work called Candi Staton (sleeve pic above). Bit disappointed to see an ommission of incredible ballistic bulb-blowers such as ‘Evidence’ and ‘The best thing you ever had’ on You Tube, but this song showcases her voice just fine.
